Wings & Wheels

Wings & Wheels is a vehicle donation program that accepts cars, trucks, boats, and airplanes for the benefit of Civil Air Patrol (CAP) programs. Civil Air Patrol has partnered with CARS, a nonprofit and national leader in vehicle donation programs. CAP’s members and supporters are aviation-minded individuals who want a better way to repurpose their older or unwanted airplanes and aircrafts. Wings & Wheels makes donating any vehicle easy!.

We accept all types of aircrafts:

How do I donate?

You can submit an easy online donation form at gocivilairpatrol.com/donatewheels or by calling the toll-free number 855-550-4483, open 7 days a week!

What vehicles are accepted?

All vehicles are considered! We strive to accept all types of donated vehicles (running or not), including cars, trucks, trailers, airplanes, aircrafts, boats, RVs, motorcycles, campers, heavy equipment, farm machinery, and most other motorized vehicles.

What do I need to donate an aircraft?

In addition to having a clear Title, airplanes and aircrafts donations will be evaluated with photos provided by the donor. Photographs are requested because there is no scrap value for aircraft donations.

Can aircrafts and vehicles be donated for members to use for official CAP business?

Donated vehicles are sold, and the proceeds go to benefit the mission of CAP. No donated aircrafts or vehicles will be used for performing CAP missions or official business.

How long will an aircraft be listed for sale?

IAA will send the donor an aircraft questionnaire and contract for review. Once the donor executes the contract, the aircraft gets listed for sale with IAA.

How long will the aircraft be listed for sale?

Aircraft donations may take four to eight weeks to process. In most cases, an aircraft will be sold through an auction facility. We carefully evaluate each vehicle to find the best buyers. We assess the year, make, model, location, and resale potential. Then we monitor the sale to ensure maximum returns. High-end or specialty vehicles are individually evaluated to find the best buyer

Your vehicle donations can support your Unit/Wing

How much will my Unit/Wing receive from the donation?

Designated Units/Wings can receive up to 80% of the proceeds. **It is important that the donor chooses where the donation is intended to go, or the Unit/Wing may not receive the credit. **

Does the aircraft/vehicle need to be entered in ORMS or received by my Wing?

No. Everything is handled directly through our partners CARS and NHQ. The Wing does not need to receive the aircraft/vehicle into ORMS. Wing Logistics does not have any responsibility in the matter

Once the sale is finalized, how long does it take for funds to reach my Unit/Wing?

Vehicle donations may take four to eight weeks to process. CARS will finalize the sale and forward funds to NHQ Development Department. These funds and any designations will be processed and distributed to the Wing. Since this is a nationally managed program, communications about the status of the donation should be limited between the Wing Administrator and NHQ. Should you have questions, contact your Wing Administrator. **It is vital that the donor specify where they want the final donation to be sent, i.e. specific Unit name and Wing. Otherwise, the donation will support CAP’s missions and youth programs.**
